X Factor Winner 2009 – Joe McElderry

The winner of X Factor 2009 releases a song that is expected to be the Christmas number one. Finalists Joe McElderry, Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs battled it out for the chance to release the winning song, The Climb, originally made famous by Miley Cyrus.

The 2009 X Factor final was held on Sat 12th Dec 2009 and Sun 13th Dec 2009. In a twist to previous years finals, one of the three finalists left on the first night, to leave the final two to compete for the winner’s title on the final night. This saw joint favourite, Stacey Solomon, voted out on the Sat night which was perhaps one of this year’s biggest shocks.

The X Factor 2009 winner, is Joe McElderry.
