MLB Baseball Tickets
Major League Baseball, MLB, is the oldest of the USA’s major professional sports and dates back to the late nineteenth century. It is the highest level of professional baseball in North America.
Major League Baseball is divided into two leagues, the American League (AL), with fourteen teams and the National League (NL), with sixteen teams. Each league is further subdivided into three divisions, denoted East, West and Central. In 2000, the two leagues were disbanded as separate legal entities, with MLB effectively operating as a single league. It currently comprises 30 teams, of which 29 are based in the USA and one, the Toronto Blue Jays, in Canada.

Spring Training
Spring training is a pre-season series of exhibition matches, allowing new players to “try out” for roster spots and established players to practice before commencing competition play. It generally lasts for about 2 months, running from mid-February up to the start of the season it April. It attracts great interest from baseball fans and draws large crowds, especially since it coincides with the spring break for many college students.
The All-Star Game
The All-Star Game, popularly known as the Midsummer Classic, takes place in early to mid-July and marks the symbolic halfway point of the MLB season. It pits players from the National League (NL), headed up by the manager of the previous NL World Series team, against players from the American League (AL), similarly managed, in an exhibition game.
Regular Season
The regular MLB season consists of 162 games, beginning on the first Sunday in April and ending on the first Sunday in October, with the post-season games played in October / November.
Post-Season
The term playoffs is not officially used in MLB, though it is commonly used by fans to refer to any post-season games. At the end of the regular season, 4 teams from each league enter the post-season tournament, which culminates in the World Series. These 4 teams comprise the divisional winners and a “wild card” awarded to the best runner-up in the 3 divisions. The divisional winners are seeded 1 to 3 based on their regular season records, with the wild card team seeded 4. Within each league, the no.1 seeds play the no. 4 seeds and the no. 2 seeds play the no. 3 seeds in a best-of-five League Division Series.
The winners of these Division Series play each other in a best-of-seven series to determine the League Champions. The AL Champions meet the NL Champions in the best-of-seven World Series, with home advantage given to the team from the league that won the mid-season All-Star game (see above).
The most successful team in terms of World Series won are the American League’s New York Yankees, by some way, with 26 successes. They are followed by the St. Louis Cardinals (NL), with 10 wins, the Oakland Athletics (AL) with 9 and the Boston Red Sox (AL) with 7. Overall, the American League has 61 successes compared to 43 for the National League. The 2008 winners, the Philadelphia Phillies, hold an unenviable record, having won their first World Series in 1980, their 98th season of play.

The logical place to start looking for baseball tickets here, follow the link below. Alternatively, try the official site of Major League Baseball. This site provides links to the official sites of all 30 American and National League teams. Ticket prices and availability vary greatly, dependent on the teams in question. Prices range from as little as $20 to $2000 or more.
For “sold out” tickets, try broker fan-to-fan sites of MLB tickets. However, be warned that prices for equivalent, or even identical tickets may vary greatly, since resellers are not required to sell at face value. For this reason, it is worth reviewing as many offers as patience allows. Many sellers ask ridiculously high prices on the basis that they will attend the game unless able to realise a tidy profit. Alternatively, ebay may prove useful. There are numerous other ticket brokers, but caution is advised as many fans have reported several online scams relating to highly-sought baseball tickets.
